New Rock Sawing Division


A.J Willcock are pleased to announce the opening of their new Rock sawing division offering a competitive, cost effective and professional service backed up by more than 45 year’s experience within the construction industry.

The company have been expanding the rock sawing side of the business since 2010 gaining vital knowledge and experience whilst maintaining a safe and cost effective service to our customers, Costain, Balfour Beatty, Skanska, Interserve, Morgan Sindall and Ferrovial to name but a few with a growing customer base on an array of various projects from drainage and utility work to motorway widening projects and airport refurbishments.

A.J Willcock Rock sawing offer a range of machines with a variety of depth’s, width’s from 100mm upwards as well as tracked or tyre mounted machines to facilitate the client’s needs and site condition’s.

All operatives are C.P.C.S A37 trained with a trained competent banksman in attendance at all times to maintain a safe working environment during all aspects of the work procedure. We also back up our site team with a trained technician with an vast array of experience and training in our facilities at Hungerford ,Berks and also Heathrow depot who are ready to mobilise for any technical or mechanical issues to keep us on the move in order to meet our clients deadlines.

New Addition - The Tesmec 885 Rock Saw

In addition to our growing fleet of machines we are very pleased to announce the purchase of a new Tesmec 885 tracked rock wheel with the capabilities of cutting from a central position to 300mm outside of the machines footprint allowing us to cut tight to existing structures and/or edge of pavement.

The Tesmec 885 rock wheel will allow us to be more competitive, cost effective to our customer’s needs due to its capabilities, high accuracy of alignment and depth with a range of cut widths from 100mm upwards and to a depth of 900mm pending on the customer requirements and needs.

The Tesmec 885 has a large array of safety features ranging from (ROPS) roll over protection system on its elevating cab which also improves visability, as well as anti vibration mounts to minimise (HAVS) and sound suppression to minimise noise to the operator allowing it to be continually on the go maximising production.

Existing Rock Saw Fleet


RT1160-RW36

Astec RT1160-RW36 2.2MT cutting wheel allowing a minimum 100mm wide cuts to be formed up to 800mm deep in asphalt and concrete road surfaces. The RT1160-RW36 can be operated in central and offset positions to both sides.

All operators hold CPCS A37 trencher qualifications and machines always operate with qualified banks man in attendance.


RT1160-RW24

Astec RT1160-RW24 1.8MT cutting wheel allowing a minimum 100mm wide cuts to be formed up to 640mm deep in asphalt and concrete road surfaces.

The RT1160-RW24 can be operated in central and offset positions to both sides. The Astec RT1160-RW24 has a slightly faster production using a smaller diameter wheel.
